JUDY'S KITCHEN FIRST EVER CONTEST!

Pomegranates are in the superfood category. They have multiple health benefits and we should all be eating them. But did you ever try to open a pomegranate? I did. It's one thing to peel and eat and it's another to try to extract juice. I've tried several different methods and IMHO it's best to just buy the juice. Yes, it's pricey. But think about all the work involved. It's worth it.

  3. Judy - I gave you some awards on my blog! I also blogged about your giveaway. I spent some time on the POM website this morning and laughed at the videos. Then went over to the recipes and picked out a smoothie recipe I'll make if I win the POM!

  4. Happy Birthday to You!

    My daughter has fallen in love with pom seeds - yes, it takes time but now that she knows how to do it, I don't have to anymore.

    People have talked about buying pom seeds prepackaged, but I have yet to see those in my neck of the woods!

    I'll give you a shout out tomorrow on my bfast post.

    I just entered your contest with my blog post which you can see here:

    And here's my original recipe:
    1 cup pomegranate juice
    1 cup sugar
    peeled rind and juice of 1 lime
    1/2 cup cranberries
    3 grapefruit wedges, chopped
    1/2 cup honey
    1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
    1/2 cup raisins
    1/4 cup Grand Marnier
    1 apple
    1/2 cup pecans
    lemon peel
    mint

    Mix all ingredients up to and including raisins.

    Just barely simmer until the sauce is reduced by 1/2 (about 2 hours)

    Add the Grand Marnier off heat.
    Return to heat and ignite.

    Add in pecans, lemon peel,chopped apple and mint.
