THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Thanks so much, everyone, for your words of support, and most importantly your prayers for our family.  My son's aneurysm is of the worst kind.  It's a fusiform aneurysm, which means it's the entire artery, instead of just a bubble.  But he has a bubble too, on the end of the fusiform.  So he has two.  And both are in a very sensitive area of the brain.  We found one neurosurgeon, world renowned, and his name is Dr. Spetzler at Barrow Neuro Surgical Associates in Phoenix, AZ (http://bnaneuro.net/).   All Jim's tests have been fed ex'd to him, and he received them this morning. We are now waiting to see if he can do anything for this very impossible situation.  In the meantime, my son is in constant pain.  Most aneurysms do not produce symptoms, including pain.  We're theorizing that the artery has grown just enough to press on nerves.
If Dr. Spetzler agrees to treat Jim, we will then need a miracle of provision for the cost.  We're hoping BCBS of California will cover some of the costs, but we'll have to collectively come up with the rest, including rehabilitation costs, airfare, housing and meals.  I would so appreciate your continued prayers for us.

I am here in Phoenix and Dr. Spetzler is absolutely wonderful. Years ago, a dear friend and mother of 5 was diagnosed with a brain tumor...very very difficult situation, but he did amazing work and gave this very ill mom back to her family. You and your family are in my prayers.

Judy - just found your blog - My dh had a "miracle" surgery on Dec. 1st here in Atlanta. If you need another opinion - we *highly* recommend Dr. Dan Barrow at Emory. He specializes in vascular brain surgery. He did something for my husband that other neuro-surgeons said was not possible. Praying you will find your miracle cure for your son. They also worked with us on the $....

Thank you all so much for your comments. I never thought this blog would be such a source of comfort to me. Your prayers mean so much, and I also appreciate hearing that Dr. Spetzler is wonderful and that there is another neurosurgeon in Atlanta (I will check him out). Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Oh my goodness Judy - I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through.

Would you mind if I did a blogger bake sale and send you the proceeds? Even if its enough for a weeks worth of groceries, it would help some?

Email me at bdl319@gmail.com and let me know if I can like to your story.
